OLT serves as a critical component in a fixed access network, responsible for aggregating subscriber traffic, managing services, and providing connectivity between the service provider’s network and the subscriber premises in an FTTH or FTTB environment. OLT can be part of a disaggregated architecture, where the hardware and software components of the OLT are sourced from different vendors. This allows network operators to select and integrate the OLT hardware and software that best suits their requirements, promoting flexibility, interoperability, and cost optimization.

Overview

ASGvOLT64 is a 64 port GPON OLT virtual Optical Line Terminal (vOLT) with 2 fixed 40/100G QSFP28 uplink ports capable of breaking out to 4 x 25/10G, 8 fixed 10/25G SFP28. All interfaces are able to be accessed from the front panel. All 1G GPON ports are able to operate at line rate by default and support transceivers meeting 1G GPON ITU-T G.984 standards. This vOLT platform supports redundant hot-swappable PSUs and fans, and is available with a front-to-back airflow direction. This open network switch is loaded with the Open Network Install Environment (ONIE), which supports the installation of compatible Network Operating System (NOS) soſtware, including the open source plus commercial NOS offerings.

All interfaces are able to be accessed from the front panel. All 10G XGS-PON ports are able to operate at line rate by default and support transceivers meeting 10G XGS-PON standards. This vOLT platform supports redundant hot-swappable PSUs and fans, and is available with a front-to-back airflow direction. This open network switch is loaded with the Open Network Install Environment (ONIE), which supports the installation of compatible Network Operating System (NOS) soſtware, including the open source plus commercial NOS offerings.
